Lionhead Rabbits

Who doesn't love bunnies?  I stumbled upon this breed as I was doing some web surfing and fell in love.  Lionheads are a small pet breed and come in many colors.  Like the name implies, they have a mane, making them look like a fuzzy little lion!  Although we know many people who raise rabbits, it was very difficult to find breeders in the area.  I was finally able to acquire an orange doe and a chinchilla buck to start my breeding program.

There are so many color combinations in this breed it's hard to pick just one to work with.  Currently I am trying to focus on the orange and frosted pearl.  These are favorites results from crossing Sunny and Stormy's offspring.

Sunset is my senior doe, she is also over a year old and has lost most of her mane, this is typical in lionheads.  Although she doesn't look like a lionhead she still produces nicely-maned babies.

Stormy is my senior buck, his coloring is chinchilla and although he's over a year old he still holds a nice full mane.  He really doesn't have red eyes, that's just a given trying to take pictures in a dark barn.
